What kind of education is Extra knowledge from palliative care - Step by step?

It's a 60- hour postgraduate education consisting of theoretical and practical part.


What does the education look like?

It is a 6- day intensive education. Part of programme consists of lectures and part of home work (reading material, essays, homework …).


Who is the education intended for?

Education is for everyone who would like to achieve a more thorough basic knowledge in palliative care.

The number of participants that can take part in this is 25.


What kind of knowledge do participants gain having this education?

They learn about:

    • the definition of palliative care,
    • basic treatment of body symptoms in palliative care,
    • the basics of psychosocial care of incurable patients,
    • ethical and legal aspects of palliative care,
    • the basics of communication.

What does the final exam look like?

Final exam is a questionnaire.


However, to be able to apply to the final exam, one has to have 100% attendance at the lectures and one has to finish all obligations in the "school" (homework, essays, a finished working book, read all books).


In case of absence (becouse of unforseen events) the participant may visit next sessions if one has the agreement of the instructor.


Are there similare programmes abroad?

Yes, there are. This programme resembles similar programmes which are also available abroad.


How much does the entry fee cost for the participants?

The entry fee is 400,00 €+ DDV per participant.
