Palliative care is a branch of medicine and the same as other branches, it also needs extra time and practical skills. For all experts, who are daily in contact with the patients with incurable diseases, it is persumed that they should know the basics of palliative care. Those experts are medical doctors, nurses, psychologists, social workers, physiotherapists, spiritual companions and many others.

In Slovenia, knowledge of palliative care in education programmes in curriculums is rarely achieved. Due to this reason, Slovenian Association of Palliative and Hospice Care has organised different events and education programmes in this field.
