About Association

Introduction

Slovenian Association of Palliative and Hospice Care SZD (acronym: SZPHO SZD) is independent professional unit of Slovenian Medical Association (acronym: SZD).

Association was formed on 24- th of October 2011.

Purpose of forming Association is volontary, independent, professional, non-party, non-profitable, association of medical doctors (equal members), from 2014 also other healthcare professionals can join (affiliated members), who are invited to participate in different interest groups.

Our mission and vision

The main purpose of Slovenian Association of Palliative and Hospice Care is professional development and promotion of palliative care among professional and general population.

SZPHO takes care for planed and harmonized professional education on the field of palliative care. It supports and enables publishing of professional and non- professional literature in slovenian and other foreign languages on the field of palliative medicine. It is also working together with other authorized organs to design healthcare grid od the field of pallitive medicine.

SZPHO also participate in international organisations, like: European Association of Palliative Care, who's equal member is from 2016. Members of SZPHO have the opportunitie of lower entrance fee for EAPC events, but before they must register in EAPC database as a »Collective members« and they must choose the Association to whom they belong on the link:
